Questioner: So, in the past we've talked about the tremendous changes that are happening in the earth, global warming, and the resulting mass migrations of populations both between current countries, primarily from warmer regions of the world to cooler regions, also within countries, from very warm places within large countries to cooler places, and the tremendous pressure that will put on people. But I believe you said in the past that solutions will be found over time to accommodate people from regions that are suffering from drought and excess heat. It seems challenging to see how any kind of accommodation of very large migration from one region to another will be acceptable to those people who are already living in the more survivable areas. How will we solve this problem?
Maetreyii: This is a very good question, very relevant to the near future of this world. I have addressed this in part in a previous talk in which I mentioned that, whether the migration is fought or whether it is accepted, in the end when there is a driving force to the migration of people it does not matter. As the American Indians were overrun by settlers, some fought, some tried to integrate and accept those coming. Both approaches failed. In the end, those settlers took the land that they needed, and they wanted, and the force of their need drove them despite many dying.
So, neither resistance nor acceptance brings a good solution. It is by changing the situation which has caused the excess need that solutions arise. Today, due to human excesses the climate of the world is changing rapidly, more rapidly than people have realized. And it will change still more rapidly than even today they realize. Once the cascade is started, like a snowball rolling down a steep hill, it's very hard to stop the momentum. The momentum gets faster and faster as it continues to roll, this process of change in the weather patterns of the world is in a rapid movement and sudden changes can occur. When I have spoken of solutions, they have been united efforts by people to stop these changes and to reverse this process. It will take all the efforts of humanity to do this. And it is very unlikely that people will band together and put their resources to the tasks that are needed for their survival until they realize their survival is at stake.
Today, intellectually many people realize there is a problem coming but it is not here today. Life is still quite comfortable. You still drive your car to work. You have your nice house. You do not feel the impact. You read in the news there have been fires somewhere, there have been floods somewhere. You realize something is going on because of the scale and the frequency of these disasters, but still you are comfortable, you have all of your needs met and life is going on as usual. So it does not hold a reality.
And for those men and women in powerful positions the same is true. It does not hold a practical reality for them. But what does hold a practical reality are economics, are politics, are power and control. Those in power see that their power comes from continuing to have economic well-being and to sustain and appease those economic powers in control in the world that have the most say. Many of those powers are the very forces that represent the destructive elements - the use of fossil fuels, the practices that break the earth's core, the practices that harm the earth and increase global warming. They continue despite the warnings that are being given, despite the disasters that are occurring.
As long as the disasters do not impact those in power, as long as they don't infringe on their power and their economic status, the short-sighted vision continues to dominate. And those in power want to sustain their power through appeasing those economic giants who can keep them in power. So the old systems that have governed much of the earth with corruption, greed, are challenged and will not give up their authority and their ways. They will not make inconvenient changes without direct threats to their survival.
It is unlikely that this mounting momentum of global weather change will be addressed until it is truly critical. At that time human beings will face a difficult decision. The decision to band together, to use all of their resources unitedly to save humanity and all sentient species in this world, or to bicker and fight to the bitter end.
It is my firm conviction that at that time the need for survival will outweigh all other needs and all old irrelevant structures of power will be crumbled in the wave of human need. Those will rise to power who can meet and address that need. They will join forces and utilize all of the resources of humanity to not only stop, but to reverse the tendencies that are going on in the planetary change.
Before this, naturally as the global changes occur, islands are flooded, low-lying shore lands disappear, massive disasters and droughts make some areas uninhabitable, and large masses of people become refugees in all parts of the world within countries and from country to country. Whole countries can become devastated.
These needs of these refugees who will migrate are desperate. They will not be stopped. There may be wars. There may be efforts to stop them. Surely there will be efforts in some places. In other places, there will be attempts to integrate them. Neither will prove successful.
Out of this situation will arise the kshatriya society - orderly, regulated, and at times brutal to bring order to chaos and to work for the collective good of humanity at large. Honour, duty, loyalty to the collective good will become the norm, and the Vashon capitalists’ values will be discarded. And these people will save humanity, will save the sentient species remaining in the world. Out of their efforts the planet will return to calmness and become habitable.
So never fear, the dawn of this new era has already risen. The bright light of a new future already shines on this world. The forces that sustain and maintain life are growing and those forces that diminish life, that represent the greed and power grabbing and self-centred ideology are falling to the dust.
There is a new day coming - a bright future for humanity. But there are difficult times ahead. In all of this change, there is a shift from a Vashon or merchant-based society values to a kshatriya or orderly society-based values. And there is also a shift from patriarchy to matriarchy that is going on and is a part of this shift in the ages of the planet.
For in the instinctual realm of patriarchy, territorial values and actions take dominance. But with the rise of the Divine Mother in the human psyche, there is the rise of compassion, nurturing of the mother for the child. In this overarching archetype as Mother brings her grace to the world, there is the will to live. There is the desire to nurture and bring life forward. The mother never wants her children to suffer. She never wants harm to come to them.
As this strength of the feminine grows in magnitude in the psyche of living beings, so does this attitude and because of that the different populations on the move, and those populations in the more liveable areas, will find their common caring integration. Care for the welfare of all beings will become dominate in the world. Care for the welfare of all human beings of any country, of any race. Care for the welfare of the animals and the plants. Care to sustain the planet itself. This will become the dominate feature and the territorialism of patriarchy that divides the world into countries, into regions, into separate places owned by separate people, will fade from the human psyche.
This change is coming. It is part of this great change which is now beginning. Due to the rise of the feminine in the world, humanity will survive. And the masculine and feminine energies, these two forces in the world, will find their balance now so that there is protection and strength and nurturance and love. Together these forces bring the world back to harmony.
So, do not fear the future. Do not be sorrowful, for the future of humanity is very bright. Human beings will live in peace and harmony with the world around them after learning a great lesson. They will not go in such destructive routes again. This species is maturing, growing up and sometimes there are some hard lessons to be learned in growing up. But that does not mean that there will not be a bright future.
Questioner: Practically what we can do to bring that change faster and to counteract this global warming? What in a small scale we can do physically, spiritually, mentally, or emotionally?
Maetreyii: This is a very, very good question. You can be active. You must be active at this time in the world. There is no time left to sit by and passively ignore the situation. You can fight for social change, political change that will enhance the forces of light that will bring forward the more positive psychology and will recognize the impending difficulties. Do what you can in that way.
And you can also through your Brahma sadhana, through your meditation practice bring calm and light and truth into the world. Shine the light in the darkness. Make your voice heard. Be a spiritual warrior for dharma. This is not the time for passivity. It is the time to find out what you can do, even the smallest actions. For if all people act, the ignorance in the world will fade faster and dynamic movement to change and alter this difficult future will occur faster and the difficulties will be less.
It is never too late. You must think for yourself what can you do. What can you do? Write a letter. Send a text. Make a phone call. Write an article. Lead a meditation group. Lead a discussion group. Join others who would make change and make this serious problem that confronts the humanity front and center. Be a ray of light in the darkness; a ray of wisdom in the ignorance of greed. Practice your values in your life as much as you are able. You know, you may think that what you do is insignificant but it is not. One tiny seed grows a giant tree; a thousand seeds a forest. Do not under estimate the power of your intentions and your actions. The only action you can do which will bring harm is to be complacent in the face of this need of the world. Be wise women and wise men. Bring the staff of truth and the sword of light to fight for humanity.
Questioner: In the history of the universe has there been many places like this that the planet is almost going to die or be destroyed? Maetreyii: Many. Many. As evolution takes place there is a pull towards consciousness, towards melting into the singular being. In that evolution there are stages, and it is not an uncommon stage that the initial psychology that brought the evolution of being in a planet sphere then becomes a problem and must be changed. For, the initial evolution of a planet into life forms requires individuation, requires movement into the survival of individuals. But eventually those individuals must come back and the survival of the collective be dominate.
There is a shift, a change that takes place and that causes crisis at different stages. You know, the child becomes a teen. The teen has a certain crisis as they become more self-aware. Different crises occur. In the evolution of species these different times occur. Some species not sufficiently equipped to continue their evolution do not survive as a species, and evolution takes other forms. There are also planets, suns, solar systems that are destroyed.
Life in this created universe is one of coming into formation, preserving for a time, and dissolving. Whether that life energy reaches its culminating goal and merges back to the Source of being, or whether it continues on in this evolutionary track in other forms by returning to energy, is a matter of adaptation. There is in the cosmos, in all creation a force drawing all existence into the Source from which it has come. And those forms which evolutionarily adapt to this introversion pull will surely survive. Alright?
Questioner: Will it be necessary to massively intervene in the climate through creating what they're calling geo-forming--reflecting heat out through putting particles in the atmosphere--this kind of thing?
Maetreyii: This may in fact be necessary. And human beings will have to adapt. Will have to learn how to take care of their environment and to regulate it in order to prevent such disasters. Now they are regulating it already in a very haphazard and unproductive way, isn't it?
But human beings are very intelligent. They have the capacity to band together and use their collective ability to adapt and to make the changes necessary to stabilize and make this planet a beautiful place for all and learn a very, very important lesson...one that will not be lost. They will learn how-to live-in harmony with the planet rather than imposing and using without thought or care. But yes, they will need to learn many skills and many sciences that are now beyond them.
Questioner: How about the spiritual aims of life through our spiritual practices and through some healing techniques like Reiki Level 2 can go into the world and send the energy in order to harmonize situations that might occur. If lots of people collectively would do this kind of practices, will that have some impact on physical level?
Maetreyii: Yes. Yes. I am not saying the technologies will be all mechanical. Technology will move beyond mechanics and people will learn to harness psychic force and enhance it in order to change the situation. These are part of the adaptations that will occur. So yes, variations upon these healing modalities can influence the planet itself, can be applied. The geo-forming is not necessarily simply putting aluminium into the atmosphere. It is psychic change. It is learning how to heal and how to reverse the momentum that is going on and to stabilize the planet. Remember, always the future is bright. Alright? Namaskar.
